December 17, 2008
It seems to me time keeps rushing by us so fast and never enough of it to do all we want to do. It seems just like yesterday when I send out my Christmas message last December and here I go again, a year later and another message to usher in the Joyful Season when we celebrate the Birth of our Lord! How amazing, the flight of time!
This year, one of my greatest joys comes from the sense of bonding that we have formed amongst ourselves and our allies around the world in a concerted effort to minister to God's children through improvement of their lot in life. My Christmas wish is that these bonds would continue to strengthen; that the flame of your love to help others may keep burning ever brighter, as we forge forward striving to bring some happiness to those who suffer greatly from want.
By the same token I would like to add that, the year was filled with many wonderful things. Some of our friends and supporters from overseas visited Kenya and managed to spend sometime visiting and reviewing our work in the rural areas. And in the same year we were blessed with a big Grant from the International Foundation which enabled us complete Phase II of the Kituiuni Community Water Project. How great God is!
I cannot enumerate the many good things that have happened this year to advance KUSARD's cause. And to those who have walked the walk with us and have enabled us provide badly needed services to poor kids in Kenya e.g.: education; food; medicine; clothing etc. we want to express our profoundest gratitude to them and our prayers are for God to reward them ever more abundantly for their generosity. Our computer school for needy kids has re-opened in a brand new building and we've just graduated the first class this year. Furthermore someone who visited the school recently is looking to see how the quality of the services we provide could be improved and embellished in order to accommodate more kids and for the school to be in par or even better than other similar institutions. I mean, so many good things have come to pass this year and we cannot suffer to just take them for granted because the real prime movers in all these things plus our success are our supporters and well-wishers who have made the sacrifice in order to help us accomplishe our goals. They are our precious gift from God to us!
Notwithstanding some ups and downs in the year, particularly with the economy; the political crisis in Kenya which caused many fatalities; the loss of our donated container in a bizarre and obscure way etc; we still have many blessings to count on and particularly our good friends like you and on behalf of KUSARD and my whole team, I would like to say simply THANK YOU from the depths of my heart. This being a Season of sharing, all the things you have done are a testimony of your love and believe in the dignity of human beings everywhere in the world.
God bless you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A WONDERFUL HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
